We got an 07 FJC trade in the other day at my work. It had a demello/warn bumpers, lift , and a bunch of piaa lights. Anyway, it had one of these under the hood so I googled it. If it does what it claims I'm throwin' it in mine. Its the eco model, anyone tried it?

There are 5 different products on that page you linked to. Which one are you talking about?

...and if it has anything to do with better fuel economy - NO - it doesn't work. Do you really think that some half-crocked tree hugging Macgyver was able to outsmart 70 years of Toyota engineering? As competitive as the auto industry is today, with some manufacturers stuggling to survive - if that crap worked, it would already be under your hood from the factory.

Ehh, I highly doubt that this guy is a "half-crocked tree hugger". Just by looking at the grammar, I can tell it's one of my Asian cousins looking to make a quick buck from the tree huggers.

These things have been around the tuner car scene for years. They're called grounding or earthing systems and are supposed to perform miracles by reducing the resistance to ground in the car's electrical system.

Google will produce blogs and magazine articles hyping the stuff. I made one and had it installed on my Subaru for a while. It may have reduced the lights dimming when the stereo was playing loudly. Other than that, any effects were pure placebo.

No one has ever truly tested the system. A few shops did before and after dyno pulls and saw an increase in hp. I chalk that up to an ECU reset after install and a subsequent bump in the timing modifiers in the computer.

Just for ****s and giggles, and because I've never seen it done, I may go test impedance between the block ground and the battery ground on my truck with and without a wire directly connecting the two.
