Anyone familiar with Crewbeds for Wranglers?

Never seen it before but a few things come to mind when I look at it. Not for offroad use. Looks like the mounts for the supports hang down lower than the bumper? Also with the tailgate open the spare tire would put some serious stress on the hinges when going over bumps. This would get worse with any size over stock. Does the tailgate somehow attach to the rack when its folded out to take the stress?

Clever idea. Since the flatbed extends a couple of feet past the body of the Jeep, I think some sort of marker lights might be required to be street legal.

The tailgate does latch to the crewbed.

That would make for a nice camper...

It would make it possible to sleep in the back of a TJ/YJ. Interesting idea/product.

No extra stress

The crewbed does not add any extra stress on the door hinges. The gate holds all the wait and the gate latches onto it. 50 state legal are the new ones because we added lights in the back. Buyer just needs to provide wiring for trailer four flat.

Ghetto was what came to my mind as well. That thing would handle worse then a donk. That much weight behind the rear axle with such a short wheelbase is just asking for an accident.

Ghetto? really? Wow... you guys must all have amazing camping setups and huge bank accounts to fund them! Yeesh... someone comes up with an alternative to the bug $$ of a RTT and add a little extra space to a limited wheelbase vehicle and you bash him. Don't like it deployed then keep it closed up until you reach the campsite. Where is the ghetto there? I'd offer that this is less ghetto than a receiver mounted rack and maybe even less hassle than a roof rack with a RTT mounted. Weights less and shouldn't effect the MPGs hardly at all...

I think this is a clever idea which offers enhanced utility and practicality... Within the constraints of sensible load management, appropriate driving techniques and the trade off in handling (particularly off road).

The responsibility lies with the owner to recognize and respect the limitations of the adaption.

That should be obvious!

The 'Camper Option' looks to have many fans, and perhaps in time, a lighter, alloy version may become available.

Stick one of those in your Jeep and you can get extra gas rations for having a truck. Like they used to do with old coupes during the war.

Check the #13 picture. That is a lot of stuff packed in there, may have to consider instead of hitch mounted rack.
