Anyone familiar with Nokian Outpost A/T's?

These came up in a thread on this subforum earlier but I can't for the life of me remember the name of the thread.

Here the precedent discussion about it, there is not much stuff in it.

We've had them for about 6 months now and they are great. The first week I had them on our truck I did a 2000 km trip through the Rockies in December and they performed fantastic. This model (Outpost) replaced Nokian's Rottiva tire and we had those for two cycles (aprox 100k km) without any issues as well. I believe this new Outpost is Nokian's answer to the very popular Falken Wildpeak AT. In all fairness, I have not done a ton of off road driving with these tires so I can't speak to their durability in those circumstances but I assume Nokian would have tested them adequately before bringing to market. Other tires we've experienced are the classic BF Goodrich options and the General tire Grabber model. Both of these felt "heavier" (if that makes any sense) but were good tires too....but I am confident stating that Nokian makes a good tire.

I won't be doing much hardcore offroading either.

These appealed to me cause they have the 3 peak designation like the Duratracs I had. Hoping these are quieter than Duratracs.

My current truck still has the crappy factory rubber. But, I have to say I'm enjoying the quieter ride.

Maybe it's me getting old...er... older.. Not sure how new to the market these are. I'm hoping someone has some long term experience with them.

Be careful with duratrac s, some are not 3 peak rated now, they make 2 different versions of the same tire now. Just get some Toyo at3, falken wildpeak at or cooper at3 XLT and call it a day.

I have duratrac s on my stock tremor, I’m not a fan of them, but oddly they have been wearing great, just as loud as my old super swamper tsl tires from back in the day.

They're a brand new offering, so there's no long term experience out there yet. Following from the other thread on them, a few weeks later, I'm still liking them. They are quiet, for sure, and light for their load capacity. In general, I can't say I've run any other 4-season, 3-peak offering---Nitto, BFG, Cooper, Goodyear---that works as well in the snow and ice as a Nokian, either. They took the leftover winter through breakup without thought. More recently I got into some roughly roaded, tending toward Cat-trail mining country where I've lost tires more than once and don't see any damage. For a really well-mannered AT, they're showing themselves to be tough and capable.

Never heard of these before. 3 mountian peak rated which is kind of nice.....

Hi, I have the previous version on my camper. I can’t fault them at all, I’ve driven a fully loaded camper across Europe, through forests, in sand and the only place I had any problem was reversing down my own garden ( I have fantastic black clay soil ) just to point out it’s an iveco daily lwb rear drive with an open diff, so I’m more than happy

Both sets of Duratracs I had previously had the 3 peak designation and lasted a long time. Maybe yours are quieter then mine were because you're better at rotating them then I was? I heard that a poor rotation schedule affects those tires. And I was bad at rotating them....

I don't think I'll go with Duratracs next time around though. Try something new that I'm hoping is quieter. Wildpeaks are probably top of my list right now. The Nokian's caught my eye cause they make a great winter tire (the Hakkapeliitta) so thinking / hoping maybe some of that tech funneled into these Outposts? Which would be handy during the winters here.....

Thank you for the review. That seems encouraging! I see you're in Alaska so curious to hear your experiences with them in the winter.

I think you read my post wrong, they are loud, loud like my old super swampers, I rotate every 5k. They are louder than toyo mt’s I’ve had.
