Anyone near Costa Mesa?

Planning on buying a Montero from Southcoast Mitsubishi, anyone care to go check it out for me? Take some pics of it's flaws and check for rust?

I am near it, but I am rather busy in the coming days. If Offroadmuch can't help out, I can see if myself or my wife can.

As long as it's not too much out of your way, I mostly want to verify it's rust and oil leak free (valve stems too) let it idle for a few minutes and snap the throttle to see if it lets out smoke. Any thing else you might notice would help too.

Maybe by showing up more interest in Monteros at the Mitsu dealers, they may bring the new Gen 4 ones to the US, heh.

Or at least the Gen 3 Sport, something or anything Mitsu 4wd. After experiencing how bad Toyota is at building a 4wd i realized the worst 4wd Mitsubishi will still be far superior to probably anything else.

undercarriage hanging down everywhere to get snagged, springs give out, body mount needs to be cut to clear medium sized tires and CV's are 89mm vs the Montero 95mm and 100mm CV's and the frontdiff explodes on 33" plus tires. They just cost too much money to have these short comings I decided, lets say the Montero has ruined other 4x4's for me.

Looks pretty good sitting on that lot. Rigo is the service manager and just bought a 2003 and rebuilt the motor for his own use. Good luck if you buy it. Do you know if they are offering a warranty?

Their service manager is a decent guy, had plenty of talks with the guy about Monteros.

As for warranty, the thing on the car said 'As Is-No Warranty'.
