Anywhere to rent a JKU before buying?

So it's looking like another long road trip out west is in order for next summer but I don't think I want to do it in my 2010 JKU. The performance, comfort and range at 12 MPG's was too unbearable this past summer to do it again. The wife would be perfectly happy doing it in her Infiniti QX56 but me, not so much. She'd never let me take her 75k dream car over 500+ miles of gravel...

I'm considering buying a new 2015 JKUR and swapping over everything from my current JKU except the lift to it as I'm happy with everything I've added to it. But, I'm really worried that I might be unhappy with the performance of the new 3.6 engine and auto tranny. On one hand I'd like to wait to see what 2016 or 17 will offer in terms of drivetrain changes (diesel ) but that would also likely mean most of what I have already also won't swap over to a new body style.

What I'd like to do is rent a JKU with the new drivetrain and throw my tires/wheels (285's) on it for a weekend, hook up the M416 and head for the hills to see if I'll be happy with it. Anyone know of any of the major rental companies that rent jeeps? I live in the Raleigh NC area and have done a quick search but haven't found anything yet. Anyone ever have luck with a dealer demo'ing a jeep for more than a ten minute test drive?

Thanks

I think you will find they will be sport versions with 3.21 gears.
.
Dealer may be an option, if they have a Rubi as a demo vehicle.
If both of you go to the dealer in your wife's Q and dress in business casual, that goes a long way to getting longer test drives. ;)
.
I would want to wait a couple of years after the redesign to buy the "new model". So buying one now with the great resale they have, may not be a bad idea. Kind of a hedge against the new model being less Jeep-ish, and more sheep-ish.
Good luck!
