Hey everybody,
Had not seen anyone start a thread on this topic. Hard Body 4x4 (aka Aqualu) has recently come out with a aluminum reproduction 110 and a 90 coming soon supposedly. I have not done much (any) real research on them, but I have seen the company for a while as they produce a TON of Jeep bodies and FJ bodies. Looks like with the exodus of the original Defender and all the boutique companies picking up the good old ones, they are diving into the market with their option.
Based on a little BOTE math, you could feasibly build yourself a "brand new" original 110 or 90 for $25k-30k. Which yes, I realize that is a lot of money, but it is a lot better than other alternatives currently.
