ARBwind deflector, 5th gen 4Runner

I have a 5th gen 4Runner with standard ARB steel rack. I purchased the rack with wind deflector, but never installed it once I saw it, I was afraid it would blow off on the freeway, and get even worse fuel mileage. Most of my commuting is 100 Kmh+ freeway driving and several times a year I do 2500km freeway trips. The standard rack has been quite noisy.

Has anyone done a comparison of wind noise and fuel economy, with and without ARB wind deflector?

I think your best option is getting a fairing from Thule to avoid wind noise.

I have the deflector, just afraid it's going to blow off with only provision for 2sided tape. Combined vehicle speed plus wind speed in Alberta is pretty fast...

I agree Thule and such probably have something decent, properly fastened to boot, but on the 4Runner it will sit right on the sun roof.

I was hoping for a before and after experience?
