Could you give a long term report on your Lorenz Suspension? How are the springs holding up? Are the Bilstein 5100's a good choice or would one be better off stepping up to the 2.25 SAW's? Would you buy the same system again?

Thanks

I cannot speak for anyone else but I have the Lorenz 2.25 kit and love it. I do not have any complaints about it. The ride and performance are good and I would buy it again. If you want to look mine is in the link in my signature.

I love the kit... the Bilsteins are holding up just fine. I have gotten them quite hot on several occasions, but never to the point of fading. I think that I will eventually replace the front shocks with a remote reservoir shock, but perhaps wait on the rear as it doesn't seem to get worked nearly as hard as the front suspension/shocks do.

The biggest benefit to the system is the DP rear springs. No more expansion joints or speed bumps kicking you in the backside on road and offroad the faster you go, the better it soaks up the bumps.

With my job change, I have a new business vehicle, so I don't drive the truck much anymore, so the kit probably has less than 10k miles on it... maybe less than 5k, but I haven't noticed any sagging in the springs front or rear.

The next project is the 4 wheel camper or all terrain camper. I hope the DP springs will be up to the task as the camper wasn't in the plans when I made the decision for the springs, if not, I may have to look into adding the Carli long travel airbags to supplement the DP springs or go back to the stock leaves with a minipack or something.

Thanks guys for your replies. I am trying to decide what I want to go with. When I had the full air ride I ran the Bilstein 5150 piggybacks and I wasn't real impressed with the performance but, I think it the air ride more than the shocks. A friend with an offroad shop is checking to see if he can get Walker Evans shocks for me but he didn't think they had an application for the Ram. I really miss the long travel that I got from the Kelderman air ride but not all the broken link ends. I would love to drop 10K on KORE Unlimited system but the wife will never go for that. hehe

All I have done is a little tweeking. I removed the factory overload, removed the rear bumper and hitch, and I am still running the factory shocks and the two inch spacer in the front. Amazingly this set up is working VERY well (I know it shouldn't but, it does) I like to run out in the desert a little too fast and it handles the whoops and small jumps nicely! I have decided to not keep the truck much longer so, spending a chunk on a good suspension is not going to happen.

Sounds like you found a happy medium for cheap! :) Cheap is good...

I've actually kicked around the idea of getting rid of mine for one with an auto... It would be nice to have the wife able to drive it on some long trips. I just haven't been able to bring myself to do it yet.
