hello all

i've spent the better part of the last 45 minutes searching for a thread that i had bookmarked (but for some reason is no longer active) where someone had made an audio-out cable for the midland handheld CB (75-822). the trick is that the cable has to go from a mono 3.5mm jack (with a 90 degree bend) to a stereo cable (to be able to plug it in to my stereo's AUX connector.

again, i did search. i have vague memories of the installation in question, it was either in a jeep cherokee or an xterra.

anyone know the thread i'm talking about? if not, any ideas on sourcing parts for said cable?

thanks

make one. Just short out left and right channel and feed it into your stereo. Any cable will work it doesnt need to be stereo, but you will only get audio out one side of the amp.

CB side, tip is your positive audio out and the ring is the audio ground.
Stereo input, tip is you positive audio of one channel and the little ring next to the tip is the other audio channel. The big ring is the audio ground.

Connect the tip of the CB side to the Tip and Ring 1 of the stereo plug
Connect the CB ring side to the big ring of the stereo side.

That should do it.
