A relatively inexperienced off-road driver takes a stock Wrangler Sport to Tennessee's Coal Creek OHV park, and comes away impressed. Waxing enthusiastic, the author compares the Jeep's evolutionary development to that of the Porsche 911. The two vehicles have different missions, to be sure, but each model year brings steady improvement. "...the best vehicle produced by an American manufacturer today. It excels at its given purpose..."

Great article. Also the writer talked about it quite a bit on one of the autoblog podcasts a few weeks ago.

I think the base model 2012 2-door wrangler with the automatic is HIGHLY underrated......

high pinion D30 front with the larger 32 spline outers and 1350 sized u-joints.

Dana 44 rear axle with the new larger ring and pinion

The new 5spd automatic with the stock 2.72 transfer case is almost in the same ratio range as the old 2011 and older rubicon.

If I was going to buy a new Jeep I would probably do the 2-door base model sport. I do wish I could pick and choose a few options however....I think the sport model is kinda left out of the loop with single options.
