I currently own an Autohome Overland tent, i really love it but the family has grown so I am looking for an additional RTT. On the list is the Columbus and I have some questions which I am hoping someone can answer.
The overland has one fatal flaw for young kids, that is the bottom of the screens does not zip to the base of the tent. that means that restless kids can potentially fall from the roof, which is not a problem in winter as the canvas door would be zipped closed. However we live in a warm climate and being able to sleep with the canvas door open, with the screens closed for mosquito protection would be a massive win.
I am looking at the Columbus as our secondary rtt. The faster setup of the hard shell is really appealing over the canvas tents with the covers. My question is, do the doors have full zips or are the bases still zip-free?
Any advise or thoughts about alternatives would also be welcomed.
