Average price for 4x6 trailer lid?

I'm working with a local shop to build a lid for my Bradley trailer. She's roughly the size of an m416. I have NO idea what a lid should cost but I was hoping someone here with experience could tell me. Thanks for your help!

Hey thanks Don. This guy has been jumping all over in material cost and hasnt quoted me on labor so at this point im leaning toward just having a tarp made to go over it or something. That should give me a solid starting point.

Search around. There is a tarp company the guys use. They make covers that will fit your rig really well.

BTW, I think a grand to $1,200 is about right for a good lid.

All I can say is wow! I didnt know what to expect when i went shopping for a lid for my trailer but went to the experts at Adventure Trailers. I was shocked when i found out my lid, completely outfitted with hinges, seals, latches, struts, E-track on top and powder coated white would run just a tick over $700 (not including shipping as i'll pick up at their place). They quoted four weeks to deliver which is up later this week. Cant wait to fit it to my trailer!

There has been some issues with Sierra 4x4

I think I am getting a welder & building my own

That's the way to do it.

I went with a tarp for a while and it worked great.

I was fortunate enough to get Sierra to build mine while he was not yet buried in work. Lids are costing more than the trailers. If I were 10 years younger I too would get a welder and take a shot at my own. Some great homemade lids have shown up on this site.
