AZ Snow day

A buddy called me up and said he was heading up and over Four Peaks to check out the snow so Danica and I decided to join him.
WWII Bomber we saw flying over head:

The water was flowing in all of the creeks.

SNOW!!

Taking a little hike up the trail at the top.

Moose the dog! He was SOOOO excited!

We decided to head down the back side.

It started snowing on the way back.

A LOT!

Elvota? Its not so much a lift. Its a 2nd gen 4runner. Solid axle swap. leaf springs front and rear. 35's, lockers etc. Nice truck. He just did an engine swap to a 3.4 V6 from a 3rd gen 4runner. Made the thing really pretty fast with his gearing, lighter year 4runner and my motor. :roost:

Pretty cool huh! A buddies dad down in tucson has one, heck it may be it, and they go and do bombing runs occasionally on some land they own in the middle of tucson. They take bowling balls and cover them in gas, light them up, and bam, go bombing! :smileeek:

Looks like a B~17 to me!

My Dad was a bombardier in the B~17's in WWII.

He flew in the day and night raids into Europe that helped end the war! Dad gave me his Bombardier Jacket that he wore on those raids just a few years ago...just before he passed away. He told me how cold they were at those elevations! And how they had to use oxygen, because they were so high up. Can you imagine>?!!

I want to share it with you. He was a very good man!

WOW Mark. That is cool!!! My parents have all of my Grandpa's old stuff. Even his 1911 .45! I may turn into a WWII buff. I like learning as much as possible about it.

Dang it! FlyingWen has been bugging me to go out and see if there was snow up there, we were going to go up today but from our house it didn't look like it was sticking... guess it did.

LOL, that's not snow! Around here we call that "gresil", pretty much tiny hail.

There again, for AZ, that's close enough to be called snow! It's white and falls from the sky!:elkgrin:
