AZ Voodoo Invasion!

As some of you may know, this weekend was supposed to be a run down to El Camino. With the other riders dropping out, and being unable to fill the slots 1LegLance decided upon a full-out assault on the San Diego area instead...what an adventure it was!

We left Phoenix at 8am for a James Bond-style rendezvous at 80 mph, eventually meeting up somewhere near Buckeye. From there we ventured on the less-beaten paths through places like Brawley(!), Julian, Ramona, Vista, Anza-Borrego, Glamis, Picacho Park, Winterhaven and Yuma.

Thanks to Lance for leading this expedition, we enjoyed seeing some new places with you! Also thanks to the hospitality of the So Cal people that were kind enough to spend some time chatting, hanging out, and leading us through Anza-Borrego. Hopefully we can return the favor soon!

Here are a few pics, hopefully we will have the rest of ours uploaded to the gallery tomorrow, with video soon to come:

We arrived at Anza-Borrego in the dark and crazy high winds, but the tent (and we) survived the night!

Bah! Dang it! Well I know Lance posted up here, and I tried to conjure up some interest on Adventure 4x4, AZFJ, and FJ Cruiser Forums! Thats ok, hopefully we will try to do the run again sometime this fall maybe September or November so keep your eyes out!

One of the tough things about a camino del diablo trip is the 4 rig limit...
we had this trip filled until the last couple of days before departure..
that makes it hard to post up and get folks in when you only have 2 spots. and those folks have to get a permit ahead of time due to a saturday departure.
The refuge opens again after july 15th so I figure to start running the diablo again when the temps fall a bit...sept/oct. Keep an eye for post.
we now return you to your regularly scheduled thread
