Hey All,
Due to lack of interest in a GPS Challenge I have changed this run to just a Play in the Box Canyon of the Hassyampa and a chance for folks to come out and play with different GPS...
I am running Oziexplorer on a laptop with a gps mouse & a bluetooth gps on my Treo 700 (iguidance & beeline)...I hope to see some other folks come out with diff systems we can compare.

Sunday Sept 9th
Meet in Phx 0800 west of I-17 on Carefree Hiway (74)
Meet in Wickenburg at the Woodys Gas Station South end of town 0900

Totally stock rigs no problem

I will have a grill & cooking hot dogs so if you want to plan it together we can..

Oh the way out might run backcountry to Castle Springs Rd North of Lake Pleasant

CB channel 16
Family Channel 4
Ham simplex 146.400

Ok so the list is shaping up nicely here plus some others from the fjcrusierforums:
viatierra (greg)-wants to challenge the Gods of satellites& be inspired
woodward-coming to watch others screw up so he can learn
bruce behnfeldt-wasn't scared away by meetin me

Somehow I missed the other post... I'm definately interested in the GPS challenge! A run down the river sounds fun too. Count me in.

The GPS Challenge was started in this thread:

I at least grabed the coordinates and found the meeting spot. :) That was all the challenge I could handle. I have a Garmin Map76CSx and like running NG Topo on my laptop. I would enjoy this but my schedule is too full for me to come play right now.:088:

I'm planning on joining the group. I don't have a GPS, but know that 1 is in my future. It would be good to learn what could be best. I'll be driving my work truck with CMC all over it.

Lance,

it was great meeting you this weekend. i would like to check out
the gps setup you're running and pick your brain a bit so i'm in...

Thanks, i like the vanity call sign. thinking about one now...

....one or two less random number to remember sounds
really good with a one year old in the house.

FYI...Think of a few of them.

I had the perfect one...searched and no one had it. Paid the fees, filled the forms, and got rejected. Now I have to start all over again.

I'd be interested in the run if it were a day earlier, got a previous commitment on the 9th. Sound like fun.
