Back in the Popup Camper World

Well, I have been slooowly building up a 1984 Chevy CUCV M1010 ambo into a camper but things slowed greatly due to the pandemic/supply issues. Over the last 3 years my right knee has been getting worse (already 3 surgeries on it) and the knee replacement I have been putting off for over 6 years was starting to become a non option. With this pending in the next few months, I am likely to be out of the building phase for 6-12 months. We talked about it and decided to buy a camper for our 2000 Ram. After many months of looking, not finding what we wanted in the price range we were willing to pay, we found this 2013 Northstar TC800 popup camper. Our last camper was a 2006 FWC Grandby, which was nice but we never were happy with the bed comfort. Even having a custom made mattress made, it just wasn't working. I knew anything we built/bought needed to have a comfortable bed. This is where the TC800 met our need. It is a North/South bed config and uses a normal queen size mattress. Much more comfortable and easier to get in and out, as no one has to climb over the other. We will be tweaking things to fit our needs but it should be a good foundation. Here is a pic from when we picked it up.
