Backroads on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon

Awesome report Tim. Reminds me I still need to check that area out! Cruiser is looking like it's serving its purpose as well.

Very nice report

Your photography skills put mine to shame. They give such a sense of life to the trip and make me want to go back and see it all again, as well as the parts that we didn't get to. Don't sell the south rim too short, there are nice, secluded spots there as well.

Thanks! So far so good. The throttle decided to creep up the RPM's for a while and some WD-40 fixed it. Otherwise smooth sailing.

Thanks Mikey! You're right. I painted the south rim with a broad brush and was just referring to the main "National Park" portion. There are some amazing spots on reservation land or even just a bit back from the edge.

Nice trip, thanks for the write up.
Thanks! I want to go back! Work really gets in the way.

Killer photos on your blog! Looks like your putting the land cruiser to good use!
Thanks Ryan,
So far so good! The Landcuiser is such a different beast and yet in many ways it feels like my old 4runner. So far so good.

On this trip I reconfirmed my avoidance of forced induction on offroad trucks. My buddy has a stock 80 on 33's and his temps were in the 230's during a long climb. I hit 194 once, but that was as high as it got. I also used 11 gallons less fuel than him over the 300 miles of offroad driving. Even though I have 35's and a much heavier truck. Yowza! Just a fun fact I thought I'd share for any 80 owners out there! :sombrero:
