Bacon for California coast overland trip

Hello All,

I recently had the opportunity to buy a few packs of bacon, well the wife mailed it to me. I'm out in Asia right now in the sand and who doesn't like bacon right? SO anyway I get this monster pouch of bacon and it's way better than the T-rat bacon we usually have. The military stuff is like paper thin and over salty in my opinion, this new bacon is thick and still good texture. We have been eating it while on the road kinda like jerkey, it's that good.

The real beauty of this stuff is it doesn't need to be kept in the cooler and it's amazing flavor. I know some of us have tried that hormel sefl stable bacon and it's honestly garbage compared to this new stuff. I also like to keep a good supply of canned foods in our 416 expo trailer along with lots of freeze dried food too. I have to say I cant stand that greasy canned bacon compared to the new stuff.

Anyway if your a expo foodie and enjoy good quality food I thought this was worth sharing. I have since stocked up on another 5 pouches for our pantry as well as our expo trailer. Were getting ready for a trip up the CA coast this spring and trying to get everything dialed in. Just have a few more food items to sort out and a solar panel and tongue box to get some power to the old m416 trailer and we will be set.

I want to disclose also that I will be selling this stuff and that's a testament not to the great profit margin, but rather how much I genuinely enjoy eating this stuff. I also like to support my neighbors and small American business men and women. The makers of the bacon are in the same town we are, Bozeman Montana. Take that all for what it's worth and if anyone else has tried this stuff what do you think?

Interesting

Why am I reading this, I am a vegan, but I really do miss good bacon. If I was the meat eater of earlier times, I would certainly be ordering some.

mkitchen,

I have no idea how your able to do the vegan thing lol. I will say though that I don't eat meat with every meal, there are some really delicious veggie meals. That said I'm not sure I could cut out cheese or butter. I have been buying this canned butter from a company called red feather, hopefully it makes the trip quickly and I can taste it here in Asia.
