Did a quick Baja trip last week. Weather was mostly nice, with some rain at the end.
Why drive 1000 miles, round trip, into Baja for 5 days? Basically: to hang out with living dinosaurs, AKA gray whales, both adults and calves like this one, resting on mom's back.

And this one, doing its best to keep up with mom who was going really, really fast during "swimming school."

And several of these, curious about the people, who are curious about them:

I also like to visit places like Bahia Asuncion on the Pacific coast, about 500 miles south, and watch the local cowboys do their thing. (Lots of nice trucks in this little fishing town, population 3000- and good looking horses.)

(I passed on the rooster fights after the horseraces.)
All in all= a fun trip to start the year! Looking forward to going back end of March with friends.
