Hello All,
Some notes on a Baja expedition which I have planned in October.
Tentatively, we, myself and my girlfriend so far, will leave on the morning of the 12th and head into Baja through TJ and shoot south in a straight shot to Lareto or La Paz. Hopefully, we will get there in a couple of days then, after relaxing there and seeing what there is to see, start slowly heading back up the Sea of Cortez side and ending up in Mexicali around the 28th or 29th.
Camping, kayaking, spear fishing, snorkeling, etc...all the way up.
No cement plans from that point, play it by ear, smell the roses and camp where it looks good. A hotel here and there for a hot shower and soft bed will probably happen (girlfriend
)
Perhaps enjoying 1 or 6 beers at the right time.
Definitely explore the ocean and hills alike.
I have been down a few times, on dirt bikes and in cars as far as Bahia de Conception and Mulege, so I am sort of familiar with that area but La Paz up to Conception will be new to me and I am hoping to find a good off-highway coastal route from La Paz to Lareto.
We will be in my '93 FZJ 80.
If there are any folks interested in joining us for all or part of the journey, let me know. The more the merrier.
We are both in our late thirties and are pretty damn easy to get along with.
No immaturity (been there done that) but a lot of fun.
My girlfriend's first language is Spanish so she will help with communication but it has never been an issue for me down there.
A little Spanish goes a long way.
If you have any good input, I would greatly appreciate it.
