Bald Eagle State Forest pt.II

Located in Central, PA this place is awesome! I know some have been here before, and I finally made another trip back after going last year. We spent 3 nights at a camp site just North of R.B. Winter State Park. Minus the real roads we had to take to get to certain parts of the forest we probably logged close to 100 miles of dirt/rock/snow covered/muddy/watery trails! It was a blast! We only had one other vehicle drive past our camp during our stay, saw a few others in the forest. Temperature was AWESOME! I actually got a little sun on Friday, no rain, the only disapointment was the "super moon" on Saturday night. Was hoping for some nice pictures, but it wasn't anything special. At least from where we were.

Hope you enjoy the pictures! I'll get some more posted soon, still have to clean out my truck haha.

First trail was Old Shingle/Negro Hollow Road. This trail was a lot of fun! Starts off a little rocky, gets washed out in a few sections making it a little tricky in some spots. Couple larger water crossings, followed with a LOT of water run off from the melting snow.

A lot of the roads still had a good amount of snow on them. Made a few areas a little tricky

Thanks! It was a lot of fun! Next time I go back I'd like to do some hiking in the area. They have trails all over!

Couple more pics.

Ah, the joys of soggy, wet Pennsylvania during the spring thaw.

Is that near Lewistown?
The center of BESF is about an hour North of Lewistown. There are more parts of the forest further to the South that are closer, but I haven't checked those areas out yet.

Thanks! Parts of Old Shingle/Negro Hollow Rd were more like a creek than a road. It was very awesome!
