Bantam T3-C tailgate latch question

I hope I don't get crucified for asking this question. Has anyone ever tried to install a classic truck tailgate hidden latch kit on their T3-C tailgate? https://www.cpitruck.com/hidden-latch-kit/. I'm not too keen on the chain latch mechanism and was thinking this one might be the ticket, as I'm just trying to improve a bit on function without radically changing the looks of the trailer. No chains banging around would be nice as well.

I've been considering putting a tailgate in my CDN M101, but havent for many reasons-- the latch being one of them. This is a cool idea, and following to see what others' experience is with them.

I like that system more than the rotating handle system on my trailer because it leaves the ability to have a smooth tailgate. The outside of mine looks awesome with a smooth surface and rotating recessed handles, but try to set or slide something on the inside and you will hate yourself. I’m going to build a wood filler panel for it I think.
