Bantam Trailer Question

Hi,
Tearing apart my Bantam T3C trailer, and having one problem. The through bolt in the coupler will not budge. The one the goes through the chain brackets, coupler, tongue rails, and landing leg bracket. I believe it is 3/4x16. I had to cut the nut off, and have sprayed pb on it for over a week. I have beat on it with a hammer, used an impact, cheater bar, and drilled the bolt all the way through. Will not budge. The pieces around it move, so I have a hard time believing it is still rusted on.

Is it pinned in from the top? When I look through the hole i drilled I can see what looks to be a pin dead center, and it has spot directly on top of this area that looks to be welded. Any thoughts?
Thanks.

if it is pinned, it's been done after production. Mine was easy to remove with just a socket.

Post your post mortem carnage please. Good luck.-

I will get a pic today...I started using a 1/2 inch drill bit on it. It finally moved about 1/16 of an inch then got stuck again. More drilling, more pb...sledge hammer. It's about 50% of the way out now. Hope to get it all out later today. Thanks for the input.

Well, I finally got it out. I don't understand how, but the bolt was bent. Anyways, for future reference...they SHOULD just slide out once you remove the nut. There was nothing else holding it in, and it didn't even have too much rust on it.

Hey sorry to hijack this thread, but I also have a Bantam Trailer question. What have people done to replace the stock springs? What reference or PN would i need to replace these?

Replacement springs for the Bantam T3 and T3-C are the same as the front springs for a Jeep MB, GPW, CJ-2, CJ-3 and early CJ-5.
