Batteries from odd places?

I know this is going to sound kind of odd maybe even strange but I happened to look on Home Depot and Lowes websites and came across a wide range of batteries (some AGM ) I was wondering if any of them would be worthy of purchase?

It seems as though it might be a smart way to purchase a battery because there's so many of the stores around so warranty or claims might be easily handled...

Does anybody else have an odd place that you would find batteries?

Just find out who the manufacturer of the battery is, and decide if you're comfortable with their quality. I would have no concern buying from someplace "odd," in fact I bought my 27F AGM from BatteriesPlus, their X2Power brand (rebadged Northstar).

There are a lot of RV'ers that get batteries at Costco. Seems they sell a decent 6V deep cycle for a reasonable price.

I would not worry about buying batt from home depo or lowes. If the brands good than go for it.

I just bought 2 - 6 volt batteries from Costco a month ago. They are Interstate batteries made in Mexico by Johnson Control. They only have a 1 year guarantee. The prior 2 batteries I got from Costco I got 2 1/2 years out of them.

You only got 2.5 years from your 6v batteries? Are you taking care of them? 6v batt that are well taken care of should last you more than 8 years.

There's only 3-4? manufacturers, many more brands / labels stuck on them. There' snot a lot of difference between the category types, marketing hype notwithstanding. Wet / Deep / AGM

And many Home Depots are now messing with an 'automotive' section, stuff you might suddenly need for vehicles or small engine machinery. Fluids, consumables, wipers, good variety of chems and stop leaks and such. They're trying to become a one-stop shop for contractors.
