battery group and Ah ratings linked?

im still tryin to figure it out..so help me fellas!!

Im lookin at 200Ah + or - worth of battery...(get it..battery humor!!)

I already haul 2 65 series batteries...700cca blah blah napa brand..no idea on WHAT the Ah is on them!!

I can fit whatever size wherever I need to...but Im unsure when buying them as to WHAT series to ask for??

the sears website does the CCA and Reserve time...but doesnt give me an Ah rating *EDIT* I did find if you use the QUICKVIEW tab you see the AH rating...and I cant find a calculator that makes sense to me (prolly thinkin too hard!!..I hope!)

I dont think there is a calculation for CCA to ah. But I believe there is on for an "approximate" ah conversion from the Reserve Capacity data. If i remember correctly you multiply RC by .4167 for an "approximate" ah rating. IE: 200 minute RC (reserve capacity) would be around 80ah rating. Is this what you are looking for?

Batteries that are rated in CCAs are generally NOT a deep cycle battery.

Look for a battery labeled as a DEEP CYCLE battery, sometime labeled as a "marine" or "RV" - BUT, that nomenclature doesn't always mean they are deep cycle, but "generally speaking" it does.

You might consider going with a pair of 6 volt golf cart batteries, wired in series. Trojan makes awesome GC batteries, and that's what you hear a lot of RV owners upgrade to.

Also look in to a nice two or three stage charger as well....
