Has anyone installed a Bedslide in the composite bed of a 2005+ Tacoma...
Was talking with the dealer here in town and he was worried about the expanding rivnuts under the bed pulling through...Just concerned with the long term durability...
Thanks
Matt

Yes we installed one in a customers truck. He has used it for a full season now and it seems to work well. Did a tonneu cover over the bed with RTT and bed slide for easy access to the full length of the bed. Its actually not a very heavy unit and can hold a lot of weight. Its bolted many places and seem to spread weight evenly and when pulled all the way out its still not so far out as to stress the front mounts.

I like it a lot.
We used the bed slide in our USFS trucks for fire and they are nice. Makes getting heavy crap out of the bed way easier.

Im not a fan of the plastic/composite bed but its definatly strong enough for a bedslide. The dealer is always scared of things they dont understand or can warranty easily. Dont worry its works well.

zolo - when you installed the bedslide, how'd you mount it to the bed? Just drill holes and use bolts/washers? I'm planning a drawer system for the bed of my Tacoma and I'm hesistant to drill a bunch of holes to mount it, but that may be the only way. I've been trying to come up with a system that uses the 6 bolts that attach the bed to the frame, but I haven't been able to figure out a clean way of doing that since they're recessed in the 'troughs' below the main level of the bed.

The Bedslide dealer said he installs all of them with rivnuts/nutserts...which I have no experience with...he also told me that bedslide wouldn't sell a slide for a tacoma if the nutserts were a problem with the composite bed...
I don't know how much laterally these expand but I would much rather have a wide fender washer under there than just a 3/4" rivnut.
