Best SLC are skiing for beginner kids?

Our daughters (6yrs, 9 yrs, 11 yrs) have never skiied before- they are somewhat athletic, but not natural jocks. They are going to be tentative; although I could be surprised!

Where is a good place for kids to learn? We're spending two days skiing, and aren't tied to any particular place. We're staying in downtown SLC, and driving whereever, so distance isn't really an issue. The Park City resorts are within the realm. Cost, while always important, takes a back seat to a good experience on this trip. My wife and I are solid blue square skiiers, and will have fun anywhere. This is about the kids! :)

If you're just looking to get in a little skiing for the girls, the Sunnyside lift at Alta is free after 3pm. It's the lift at the end of Little Cottonwood Canyon. Most the runs down are fairly easy. The lift only runs to 4:30 so it's a short time, but often that's all the smaller people can handle or are interested in. I know you said you heading out for 2 full days so somewhere else might be better, but that's a cheap and quick option if you're looking for something fast.

- By the way, Alta's just great all around. It's an all skiers resort so you don't have to worry about snowboarders...not that they're bad (as my wife was one) but it might be easier to just watch skiers if that's what your girls are trying to pick up.

You may have already gone on your trip so this post might be pointless, but I wanted to recommend getting your kids in a lesson to help get them started. For one not everyone is patient enough to teach others to ski. Secondly, the instructors have it down to a science and it will probably start your kids off with a positive skiing experience.

My oldest son started snowboarding last season at 4 years old (my friend is an instructor at Bear Mountain) and picked it up within an hour of riding. Kids pick this stuff up really fast; Low center of gravity and less fear!

Sure the vacation is over, but Wolf Mountain ski resort in ogden valley is a great beginners place, and great price point.

Really all resorts have 'bunny slopes'

I started skiing at 6 years old, and learned at Brighton, and Powder Mountain.
