Willow Creek Road - Dishpan Springs - Rattlesnake Canyon - Heartbreak Ridge

My wife and I were able to get out for a weekend to run some trails around Big Bear. We got up to our families cabin Friday night after work and had plans to run Willow Creek and Dishpan Springs the next morning. Since I've only been up to Big Bear a few times I needed to familiarize myself with the trails that I'll be leading runs for during a SummerFest event there in June.

On Sunday we had plans to meet up with a friend in his FJ and run Rattlesnake Canyon and Pontiac Loop along Heartbreak Ridge, then exit out through Burns Canyon and Yucca Valley. Here's a few pictures of our trip.

Nice pictures. I grew up in Big Bear and never wheeled there, now I keep trying to get me and my rig back to go wheeling... thanks for sharing.

I'd like to see some specs on your yj. Particularly the tire and wheel sizes. Looks like a great time.

I'm running on a 2.5 ProComp lift with 31x10.5 Micky Thompson Baja Claws and 15" wheels.

Helpful information?????

I am taking a group through most of the same trails starting at the Cleghorn and ending as we come out Rattlesnake Canyon on May 7 & 8th.

I was wondering how the snow level is on the higher trails especially ones like John Bull and Dishpan?

Any helpful information you could provide would be appreciated.

We were doing maintenance on Holcomb Creek on Saturday 4/24 and there are only small patches of snow left.

Yeah, you won't find much snow. There was none around Dishpan Springs.
