It was the first gear testing trip of many to come. This is the beginning to get us ready for the Pan-American Highway

Cool pics! I've been wanting to make it out to BB for several years now but have never found the time. This is my favorite pic:

Great pics James! BBNP is next on the list.

We had a fantastic time in BBRSP, Guale 2 is a must see place. The views are incredible.

Its a good 45 minutes to an hour from the ranger station in the middle of the park. We did some of the "tougher" roads but nothing really that difficult. The ranger said that if we wanted hard stuff we should hit the northern pan handle of the ranch. Apparently they haven't had someone visit that region (or at least report back) for about a year. He said to be prepared to spend the night out there should we attempt it. We where tempted to do so but time ran out. Next time for sure; we did do one road that hadn't been maintained or reported on in over a year and it was pretty tame. Did get some nice trail pinstripes but nothing crazy.

BTW, thanks for the heads up on Pinto Canyon Road... that was a nice piece of scenery. We would have missed that without your tip.

The brush can get "scratchy" though... most of it will buff out. But for those who care about paint will want to take an alternate route.

Anyhow, looking forward to the next trip out that direction.

Great looking pics Sean, looks like the trails a the SP were definitely less travelled compared to anything the NP had to offer. Any more pictures?

I go out to BB area once a year and love it. The state park is a must if going that way. The last time I was there the ranger said there was only one other person that he new of in the park. I did some backroads but since I was by myself I didn't venture into the "haven't heard of anyone going that way in awhile" areas. I drove in at night to my campsite and woke up with the best view in awhile. Best part I didn't see anyone else to ruin the view.

Where did you find the dripping water/ice at the bottom of the cliff? Any idea what trail or the approximate area?
