Up for your consideration is an adventure machine that you won’t find every day. I am selling my much loved and very well kitted 2001 Honda XR650L. With 14,004 miles on the ODO She’s just finding her stride. She’s 21 years old and ready to party.
If you are an XR lover looking for a great example of the XR caddy king, here’s your bike. Or maybe you already have a dead sexy ADV scooter but your friggen buddy Dave is always talking about how he would love to go with you – but can’t – he doesn’t have a cool enough whip. Dave, here’s your bike.
I will attempt to capture all the history, additions, mods, and faults. I have owned this bike just shy of 12 years so I will certainly leave something off the list, forgive me. The basic bike, frame and motor are straight and solid with no known issues. And for the record yes, she’s got some bumps, scrapes and scuffs. I’m not too proud to admit that I’ve been bucked off a time or 30.

- Giant loop diablo tank bag
- Giant loop panier pockets
- Giant loop bush whacker hand guards
- 2X Giant loop Tillamook dry bag panniers (brand new)
- New flexible LED tail lights
- Spare tube bag for front fender
- LED turn signals need a LED specific flash relay
- Scotty’s stabilizer is in a ziplock bag and not on the bike
- She probably needs a fresh oil change
- There is a short piece of fuel line that I have been meaning to change so it’s not so taught
- The plastics and cosmetics are all generally good, not shiny, and brand new
- the worst part of all is that I am no longer able to ride and I have to sell her
