Big Boys Going Small(er)

Outfitting for Adv
Forest River Rockwood Geo Pro can be had with microwave, fridge, tv, and ac for less than USD$10k.

And Winnebago has launched their own 'pod' called the Winnie Drop.

I'm sure there are others but the little guys are going to have a tough time getting the attention of buyers now that their market is no longer niche.

I think in the camper/travel trailer world at least, you get what you pay for. Every "BIG BOY" brand trailer I've ever looked at to me seemed like junk. the interior, frame, floor etc.. I see no way durability wise they will ever last off-road.. The U.S. market for medium to large well made travel trailer is non existent! Take a look at the Australian market. They have it all from small trailers to large double axle rigs. Yep, they cost BIG money but at least you have the option... The options we have here for small trailers with RTT is good but expensive. They are small companies that care about quality and put out good products in my opinion... But for larger options you have to import...

Sure...and built like a cardboard box. The RV industry is in dire need of some fresh new ideas.

The RV industry is in dire need of some fresh new ideas.

And a substantial increase in build and material quality, the junk a lot of manufacturers make is near criminal.

Until the buying public demands higher quality and is willing to pay for it nothing will change.

Doesn't Get Out Enough
The Winnie Drop looks like an R-Pod clone, but that smallest Forest River Geo Pro shows some good thinking.

Obviously the concern of most people here on ExPo would be the construction under the skin, but at least they showed some interest in breaking out of their standard 'North American RV Trailer' mold.

11ft 2in overall length, 90"Hx76"W exterior, 1072lbs empty, 122lb tongue weight, a 20gal fresh water tank, and a side-mounting grill doesn't sound like a bad recipe overall. I bet they sell every one of them.

Still, I highly doubt they'll be taking any sales from IntechRV at this point.
