I took my wife this weekend to Big South Fork in Tennesse/Kentucky. We got there late on Friday night (4 hr drive) and stayed at the Bandy Creek Campground. The next morning we woke up, ate breakfast, weathered a small rainstorm and headed to the Angel Falls Trail which runs along the BSF River.

It is a 2 mile hike out to the "falls" which is actually just a bunch of rapids. Still it is a nice and pleasant walk.

After that we headed to the Blue Heron and Barthell Mining Areas in the KY portion of the park.
The Bridge where the coal traveled across the BSF River to be loaded onto the coal train.

With all the posts here from the west, you tend to forget just how beautiful the eastern mountains can be.
Thanks for sharing a new area, haven't heard of the Big Fork area.
