In April 2021 I had an offer to buy a 2006 2500 suburban LT6.0 4wd with 150,000 miles on it from a friend. It had a good bit of frame rot on the drivers side rear wheel area the drivers side rear leaf spring hanger was rotted off and the leaf spring was agains the body. Both rear quarter pannels needed repair and the rocker pannels.
The interior was a little dirty but what do you expect for 2 grand. The first thing I did was to order a new set of rear spring hangers and some metal for the frame repair well the spring hangers I ordered where for a silverado not a suburban if you didnt know they are different the silverado ones are 2 inches longer and it raised the rear up so then the front needed leveled out (I put that off till now) the tires are 245/75 16 (stock) with the HD aluminum rims. After the frame and spring hangers where repaired I repalced the brakes, rotors and serviced the engine (oil change w/ filter, topped of all fluids and installed a cold air intake. I drove the Sub for a month and I didnt like the way the trans was shifting (the way the torque converter was locking and unlocking) on the highway so I installed shift correction kit by superior and that took care of the issues with the trans while I had the pan off I installed a mag-hytec deep pan on it. I will post pics after I get it leveled out work in progress its been a pain im having to pull the lower control arms and the cross member for the torsion bars because nothing is coming apart. more later.
