Black Canyon and Sutherland Dam 10-15-06

Continuing our quest to ride as many of the cool dual sport trails in So Cal as possible, my friend Jay and I decided to explore the Black Canyon Trail and the Sutherland Dam this AM!

This is a great trail network for any Dual Sport bike and/or Slightly modified 4x4! All of the trails/roads are legal US Forest Service Roads and start at about 900ft and go up as high as 4000ft. My bike tends to run much nicer up at altitude!

The KLR650 performed well very and is also a very nice machine for anyone considering buying a dual sport!

We even made a new friend at the end of the ride! Scared the poop outta me!

Nice pic of the SWR at the Dam! I see from the shadow (and the "Greenness of the vegetation) that this is not a photochop correct? I take it you have explored these trails as well huh? Pretty fun stuff! :smiley_drive: How deep have you explored these trails?

Hi Kevin.....

Yes that's a real pic. I've been on all the trails around there that I could find and legally travel. I like to spend peaceful moments along Black Canyon at the creek when the water is flowing! Some real nice swimming in the spring as it gets warmer, but it's not a year round creek.

It's a really sweet area....so close to my home.....and hardly anyone goes out there!
