Blitz Metal Can Replacement Gasket

Bumping an old thread.... I have been given two new Blitz cans as gifts, one I received before knowing what I know now, the other I got as a christmas gift. I was going to try to make them work, but from what I read I would be better off selling these new, preferably to someone I don't know or see often.

My question is about the older army issue cans. I know you can get the lid screwed on real tight, how do these compare? The reason I ask is that I can get a couple for free to hold me over till I get some scepter or wedco cans. I am going to Death Valley next month and none of the local places have scepter or wedco cans. Thanks,
Chris

They do seem to work better. I use a screw driver to lever the lid tighter. This usually works. But, I will not hesitate to switch to wedco or scepter when I get the chance.

An old inner tube doubled over makes a better seal than the factory gasket!

If there what you have, Im of the beilef that those are best there is untill you can get something better!

Free is allways good. and there pretty easlliy traded off when your done with them later on.

Thanks guys! Is there any preferred way to clean out old gas cans? Should I just rinse with water and dry upside down to make sure all water gets out (of course this is assuming they are empty already)? I just spent a ton of time on the internet but came up with nothing.
