Bob-tail Bronco EV

I thought I had a new thought, but I'm learning that every new thought I have has already been thought...

So I did a quick google, and, sure enough, there has been a camper built on a 'bob-tail' Bronco:

although it would be much cooler if it were a pop-top like the new Earthroamer XV-JP... With all the aftermarket goodies available for early Bronco's, that could make a really cool rig.

Anybody ever done that?

While I was searching I also ran across a Ford equivalent of the Blazer Chalet:

Not sure if it was an actual production run, or a one-off. I'm guessing a one-off, but it looks pretty well done from the pic.

The second photo looks like an old Keystone model of the Four Wheel Camper on a Bronco. Looks like they built a fiberglass boot to help seal up the large gap between the body and camper.

There several pics on the Four Wheel Campers website with some vintage campers and Bronco or Blazer set ups.

Here's a different photo, sourced from this site: http://www.projectbronco.com/ - click on their "Project Bronco Showroom" link, then click down at the bottom of that page on "showroom #07", and scroll down that page 'til you see this photo again. You'll see two other photos of Broncos with pop tops.

When the Chevy Blazer Chalets were introduced, an Off Road Vehicles (O.R.V.) magazine reviewer claimed that Ford was "close behind with a pickup idea", meaning they were going to somehow imitate the Chalet. I don't know how the writer knew this, maybe it was nothing more than wishful thinking. However, it would be fun to discover there was an official Ford factory Bronco poptop RV, if just in the form conceptual sketches........

The most common early Bronco campers are the Four Wheel campers. You see them for sale from time to time (with trucks underneath them!) on ebay. The camper shown in the shot is from an early Ford press photo and I've never see one in person.
