Brake rotor options for 3rd Generation; brake pad selection too?

I'm not sure if I'm looking for something that doesn't exist, but figured I'd check in here to see what other folks have had success with.

I'm aware of the Powerstop Z23 kit for the 3rd Generations, but I'm not a fan of cross-drilled rotors, so I won't be spending money on them. I do, however, like slotted rotors, but am having trouble finding just slotted rotors for the Monty.

What is everyone using for rotors and pads? As brakes are somewhat important, I don't mind spending on these parts, but want to make sure they are decent. Are folks just replacing everything with the OEM versions? Are people mixing and matching with EBC and rotors sourced elsewhere? Any experience with the powerstop ceramic kit?

Any and all info/experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I tend to grossly overload my Gen 3, whether on trips or dragging trailerloads of gravel or building supplies. I've never felt that the truck needed any additional assistance with braking.

I went with OEM pads that I bought on sale several years ago and Raybesto rotors. The daily driver selections on Rock Auto have been more than adequate. I use mine offroad and for towing on a regular basis.

I prefer OEM or similar pads to keep the noise and dust level low. I do not recommend using slotted rotors as it will only wear out the brake pads faster. Slots and holes are only needed to vacate gases from hard braking on track. Standard rotors can also be machined easily to extend the life.

If you really want slotted rotors, then RockAuto carries Heavy Duty ones made by Centric/Stoptech.

I'm not dead set on slotted rotors, my thinking was more along the lines of "If I'm replacing them, might as well upgrade them."

OEM works fine for me.

I appreciate the responses gentlemen.

Thanks.
