Brief Northern AZ trip ...

We spent the better part of last week exploring Northern Arizona -- a sort of "staycation" for the kids' spring break -- visiting both familiar sites we've long enjoyed, such as Sedona, as well as places we've never been despite them being just a couple hours away, such as Meteor Crater National Monument (or Park or whatever). My wife called it "rediscovering Arizona", since we've lived here some time and are always looking to go other places versus taking in what's right in our backyard ... so to speak.

Conditions were never ideal for photography -- flat light from overcast skies and/or lots of haze, midday sun, etc -- so most of the 300 clicks taken over the three days were "family vacation snapshots". At least it provided the opportunity to use the new 5D MkII. :victory:

I did manage to take maybe a dozen photos (tripod mounted, golden hour, set up, panos and vertos kinda stuff) as well as more "from the trail" shots. I will be processing those over the next week or two and will post in this thread when they're ready.

All shot with 5DII + 24-70 f/2.8L + CirPol (only combo I used the entire trip).

Handheld 1x5 pano (130°) taken from Devil's Dining Room on Broken Arrow Trail in Sedona (auto stitched in PS CS4). I wish I'd done a 2x5 with more foreground elements (i.e., the rock trail underfoot and bottoms of the trees). Next time.

At 240dpi, the full-res version is nearly 6'x2'.

Click below for a 2400px wide version.
