1st question. Where did you mount your hilift?
2nd question. Hi pinion diff up front? Let me know when you do the rear. I have a toy v6 w/ elocker sitting in the garage waiting to go in. Trying to get a gb on axles. Got 4 members on here interested so far.

Nice trucks!

I found that the floor of the garage is the best place, but bolted to the rollcage in the D2 is it's second home...

Not a toy swap from kieth, but a complete axle swap...HP front with a ARB on a air switch and a detroit in the rear...

how tough is the auto swap into a Defender?
As a left below the knee amputee I can drive a stick but would be better off with an auto...however I worry about the swap being more hassle than it is worth

I'm guessing it's about as hard as swapping an R380 for the ZF. Which is to say, not hard at all. All the parts are off the shelf.

Well, you've got the cooler lines to run. Of course, I also did that since I went with a manual trans cooler. But yeah, you're taking away a pedal, not adding it, and no clutch lines, and the shifter linkage is no big deal.

Kickdown cable on a ZF22?

Just here...
Ill be doing a complete refresh of my rear axle in the next week or so. New pads, rotors, bearings, seals, Ashcroft HD axles and drive flanges. Im going to see if I can keep the camera handy and document it.

Then, the real fun starts when I go ahead and rewire the accessories on the truck. Drew up the diagram a couple of days ago. To be safe, Ill be taking a 3 day weekend to get this one done:

Maybe there should be a no BS zone DIY thread. No comments, just tech.

Just do better than I did.
My wife had the camera and photo documented every step of converting my '95 Disco to D90 brakes, along with a nearly all new brake system.
MC, SS flex lines, calipers, rotors, bearings, seals, pads.

Then I promptly formatted the CF card. :Wow1:

The swap is easy, the electrical system isn't so much hard, just time consuming...
