Bringing a land rover to the U.S.

I have tried searching but struggling to find up to date info.
I really want to visit the U.S again and do a road trip for a few months, but back country/ off road this time.
Being as I already have a land rover nearly fitted out for our needs, I figure that taking our vehicle over would be the best option.
The big question is, would it be worth bringing it back or sell it over there?
I know there are restrictions i.e over 25years old and in original condition (how far does that go, is it just chassis and drivetrain or interior fittings as well).
What are the differences in cost/ paperwork for permanently importing a vehicle vs temporary import.

Just planning at the moment, but gotta have your dreams.:)

If it's not 25 years or older it can't stay.. You can bring it over for one year as a personal import while you are here... But be forewarned, it is noted on your passport and there are serious problems to be had if it does not leave with you.. Dividing creek imports.. Doug, is the man to talk to if you really are serious about bringing one over..he's da man..
