Hey guys I've been a lurker on this forum for a couple months. Mostly just drooling over the pic thread.
My name is Ben. I live in Las Vegas, NV. This is my first offroad vehicle and I must say I'll never own a lowered car again. It's nice to be able to get out for the weekend and go absolutely anywhere I want.
Here's my 1990 4runner 3.0 4x4
The day I found her on craigslist.
Ditched the bent up front valance and side steps
Took it to Toyota for the head gasket recall. The water jackets were pitting and starting to widen. Luckily for me they said the block was covered on the recall and got a new short block assembly installed for free!
A couple weeks later had some over heating issues I couldn't figure out. After about a week of fussing I found out the new water pump I had installed when I got the new block failed.
Swapped out all the old painted and faded parts for chrome. License plate holder & door handles.
Replaced the sealed beam headlights for the 92+ model headlights and grill. Also installed clear corners.
Picked up a used set of tires with the wheels! No more ugly steel wheels
Found a '10 Tacoma that was in a front end wreck and cut the hood scoop out of it. Also picked up the filler piece from a body shop. It was replaced due to some cracking and chipped edge.
Had a local shop fab me up a bumper. Put an XRC8 winch in it and some Rigid Duallys.
Installed my Rhino Rack platform. With spare tire holder, jerry can holders, hilift jack holder and light tabs.
Started prepping her for paint!
Welded up all the holes from the stock wing, rear wiper, and radio antenna. I never listen to the radio anyways. Just what's on my phone.
Got the Hilux Surf rear wing mounted.
Hopefully shel be in the booth this weekend and I can get her put back together. I'll keep this thread updated since it kinda turned into a build thread...
