They are part of the generic range built by T-max sold under names like Britpart, Superwinch, Champion, Winchmaster, AEW, GEW etc. Unlike the Outback range from T-max (which are superb) these winches do a job for a price. Despite this they have a high reliability rate under tough conditions; however there maybe some issues with build quality. As they are easy enough to strip down, it's worthwhile doing just that, check the bearing alignment, brushes and contacts; then seal up with some silican sealer on the way out. They generally have a high ampage requirement comapred to modern winches so go for a decent battery like a Numax marine starter and a minimum of 35mm cable.
