Bummed and relieved at the same time

Chased down a craigslist ad for two 72 blazers today. I was pretty hopeful, I know I shouldn't have been, but they were claiming clean rust free bodies and strong running engines/drive train. I could have asked for pics, but these were 30ft trucks anyway and pics would not have told the story. You know looked darn good at 30 feet away............

Well if rust free is large holes in the floor, bed about shot, putty knife bondo galore and the windshield frame welded back on (poorly to where the windshield didn't fit) then yes they were clean and rust free. I suspect a roll over did in the windshield frame, who knows what happened to the truck frame when that happened.

Oh well, I really didn't have the cash right now anyway, but was afraid to pass up the chance at a clean old blazer. So in the end it was worth the little drive and time to look, just so I won't sit here feeling like I missed a good deal.

Patience, young grasshopper, patience. There will be another down the road. :smiley_drive:

Keep your money and each month add a little to that stash. Wait until you find EXACTLY what you want. Dont settle on anything else.

lol very true. im also trying to hunt down an old K5 blazer. ive been waiting for a long time now with cash in hand. ive come across some good deals but not exactly what im looking for. i hate having to wait to start working on my money pit but ive reluctantly held out so i can start with the exact truck that i want. you should do the same. its hard but worth it in the end i think

I totally agree with waiting, but if you wait for the exact truck you want you might be an old man before you get it.

The trick is to find one that somebody has spent the big money on and grown tired of it or has gotten married or has a new kid on the way. With the wife standing in the door just to make sure the guy is nervous enough to just let it go.
