I dont know much about them but they sure do look sweet. www.woot.com today only (12-3-09) til midnight. 99 bucks! It has pretty good reviews and I cant find any negative feedback on it. I picked one up...
...But shouldn't this have been in the GPS forum rather than the Toyota forum?![]()
Years ago, when I was riding my motorycle, I remember thinking "someone needs to come up with a GPS that will show the weather systems so I can route myself around them."
Well, looks like someone did!![]()
How does this work? I am an XM subscriber, is there an additional fee for getting the weather info? I've been looking for a new GPS and had been leaning towards one of the screen-type units (like the Garmin Nuvi) but because I need something that will work both in the truck, on my motorcycle and in my hand, I'm thinking something like this might work better.
Would be very interested to hear any product reviews from any of you lucky enough to have snagged this deal! If I had seen this yesterday I think I would have ordered it ASAP!
Martin,
As far as I could tell in an hour of research to see if I was buying one, yes it costs extra ~$9 a month for weather, you also have to add XM programming costs if you wanted the radio part too.... there was something posted about length of time the gps must be on to get radar tracks? to work... I didn't fully understand all of it, but I learn much better with it in my hands...
The maps are unlimited downloads for $30 a year
at least that was what I could figure out.
