I've had the C-Tek Multi US 7002, so far so good. I use it as a maintenance charge on my truck and bikes when they have been sitting for quite some time. Its super small which is a plus when other chargers are so much larger. I've added quick connects for the C-Tek on my truck and bike and haven't found a need for the older (bigger) charger yet on those two.
I'm charging a small moto battery in my bike and in my Tacoma it charges 1200 Odysseys. On that note, I hook up the CTek to the main battery, when the National Luna intelligent solenoid senses x amount of time of charge input (such as your altnerator) it activates the solenoid which then charges the aux battery as well. It actually really rocks to be able to charge them both simultaneously and while its a slower charge I assume, the CTek moves right through its charge cycle and after some time brings them both to a full charge. That way I can simply plug it in for a simple maintenance charge (truck sometimes sits for weeks) and I don't have to worry about remembering to charge both. Clear as mud?
The cranking battery will be very nearly full, so almost all of the charger's output is going to get absorbed by the aux battery anyway.
When both batteries are even, then the charge will be pretty evenly split between them, but since the cranking battery is already nearly full anyway...not much needed to get it fully cooked.
