For the current bid of $300 it might be a deal if you put a box on the back? Sounds like a rough life as a plow truck and salt spreader.

“There are various issues as detailed below: • Truck won’t go into 4x4. Transfer case is broken and makes a grinding noise when trying to engage the four wheel drive. •Transmission is slipping; oil shows full on dip stick. • Dump bed and truck frame are severely rusted. • Front end problems; tie rods, steering box, steering linkage all need to be replaced (estimate to repair these front end issues was $6,500) • • Motor will start but the truck cannot be test driven and will have to be loaded up and towed away due to the extensive drive train issues to the transmission, transfer case & steering controls. “

I'm sure that salt took a toll. It's a shame that our governemnt so often trashes vehicles with abandon. If this were maintained it would not be rusted out and broken down at 50k miles.

St. Charles County has enough money to ignore maintenance - their county budget was $400 million this year.

Edit: here's another vehicle they've trashed by driving around with the low oil pressure light on.
