Cabin Air Filter for the TJ

I'm running similar setup that uses a stock TJ airbox filter under a scoop... works wonders. on dusty trails, I run the fan and is pressurizes the cabin to keep dust from sneaking in around the rear window and tailgate.

Mototech: Thanks for the link to our site. And yes we have sold quite a few to locals and more thru our web site. Of course we'd like to sell even more, that's why we've put them on sale. Someone else said that they were just magnetic sign material -- and they are right! However there is quite a large number of manufacturers of sign material and the ones we've chosen for the Jeeps is a little thicker and stiffer as a Jeep cowl is flat. The ones for the FJ Cruiser are thinner with a stronger magnet because of the curved surface they attach too. For the price we're offering these for (includes shipping) you can't buy the material and go get it (gas costs) for the same price. AND they do work and are easily removable. After a year and half we're still using the same ones (at least 3 trips a week into the desert). If someone is not satisfied then they can return them for a full refund or exchange.

What about the holes around the wipers, the air flow around the sides of cowl and the back side of hood hinges?? All these places let dust/air in.

I used a very simple method- a wet/ dry vacuum filter over the air intake, attached with a rubber band. It's been on there for 1 1/2 years and going strong. A 3 pack of the small filters is $5 at the hardware store.

That's clever. I wonder if the XJ has a similar intake system.

Do the install that stu olson did and then also go pickup a wet/dry vacuum PRE filter type bag and use that. Super cheap. wanna say a few bucks for several and then switch them every other oil change. They cut down bigtime on the really fine stuff that gets past the k&n filter.
