I'm a long time reader and enjoyer of expedition portal but this is one of my first posts. I apologize if this is in the wrong forum or off topic. Maybe you can help direct me to the right place..
My wife and I have been traveling down the panam highway, we've often wished we knew good spots for boon docking. In addition, we've really lucked out a few times and found great boon docking spots, but aren't sure the best way to share those with others.
I've seen a few websites that track 'free' campsites, etc:

But what I'm really looking for is something that works better with an 'offline' mode, and also allows you to easily submit user generated content.. Here's the use cases that I'm thinking about:
1) We are trying to find a campsite
2) We are staying in a campsite and would like to share it
Does anyone know if anything like this exists? I was talking to some others who had just finished a trip on the panam and they weren't aware of anything like this...
If it doesn't exist, would anyone else find this useful? I would love to be able to load all the campsites onto my garmin GPS unit, or have them all in an iphone or android app that would be accessible when I'm not on the internet.

- We may know we are traveling to a specific area, and are searching for a campsite..
- Where is it? How far away is it?
- How much does it cost? Or is it free?
- What is it like?
- Would be ideal if we could access this while offline, because a lot of the time we don't have internet access in the middle of nowhere.
- I've seen a lot of people traveling the panam post gps coordinates on their websites, but I'm wondering if there is any spot that is collecting all this data and maintaining it..?
2) We are staying in a campsite and would like to share it
- would be ideal if I could have my iPhone, it would automatically grab GPS coordinates, I could take a picture, give it a name/rating
- would be necessary for this to work in offline mode, so you could tag multiple campsites and then synchronize them up later when you are online
- would be great if it kept this personal history for you so you remember where you stayed & when..
- with users submitting content, it would be great if it eliminated duplicates, and if people could share more recent info about each campsite as they visit it..
