Camping chair that you would work from 8 hours a day in.

So my wife works from home and has this http://www.amazon.com/Steelcase-Lea...qid=1400476842&sr=8-1&keywords=steelcase+leap I'm a travel nurse and we move every 3 to 4 months around the United States. We are definitely looking to leave this chair at home our next go around because it is more that 40 lbs and doesn't break down. So we started looking at camping chairs as the rest of our furniture in our apartments that we lease for the 3-4 months are camping related. We also go overlanding and take frequent 4-day trips about every other week. Any ideas on a comfortable chair that is lightweight and can be disassembled fairly easy? Some of the critical factors are the arm rests should be narrow as she uses them for support while typing. And it must offer support as she has a terrible back. The chair does not have to be camping related, just a better option than our current set up.

Strongback chairs. We use the Zen because it packs smaller and fits in our storage. Very comfortable, light, and great lumbar support.

I have some old ones from Eddie Bauer that are really nice. Had them for ~15 years and I could sleep in them. I know they're old, but they stood the test of time and are very nice to sit in. I would consider checking them out.

Holy cow $900 should buy a decent camp chair :p. A lot o camp chairs are "laid back". Is this something that you want?

Yeah I know the chair was expensive we got it for $600 display model. You can't put a price on keeping a happy wife, and she does have a pretty bad back. The chair was the way to get us traveling but now we both agree the chair will go back home, but like I said previously we are looking for a suitable replacement. The problem we've seen with most camp chairs are they are either; too low, don't offer enough support, or the arm rests are not positioned in an appropriate area for typing. We've been looking at Office Max and other places for a lighter chair that will break down and meet all of our other needs but the ones that have the good arm rests that we have seen don't break down.

The Strongback Elite costs $80 and you have 30 days to return it if you don't like it. Just pay the return shipping cost. They're worth a try.

I have two of the Strongback Elite. The lumbar support is great. I recommend buying from LL Bean, as they have free shipping and occasionally have them on sale, and 10% off sales (not at the same time)

I have 2 of the Alps Mountaineering Camp chairs. I routinely use one at my desk where I do video editing for many hours, sometimes I put a thin memory foam pillow on the seat if I am using it for many days in a row. It just feels more comfortable.

They are great if you are a big guy like me because they go are rated up to 425 lbs. I am not that big, but it is roomy, and the arms have a nice curve on them. They are pretty reasonable also. I have seen them for as little as $62 on Amazon. The only down side is they are like a director's chair and they don't fold very compactly. They take a bit of space. I have had one for years and they double as a comfy guest chair if I have lots of company.

I like the look of that Stongback chair, and the price is not bad either. At the Overland Expo, I tried some of the chairs that the Oz Tent vendor was selling. They had adjustable lumbar support, and were very comfortable.
I can't remember which one I liked best, but it was either the Oz Tent King Kokoda chair, or the Jet Tent Pilot chair.

I'll have to check out LLBeans chair. I have had exceptional customer service from them with their jackets.
