Center consoles.

Trying to see what everyone has done with their center consoles for all their stuff. My 75 k5 is stick shift with 4x4 shifter. Will want to be adding an off road gps ham/race radio cb cup holders and either storage in between the seats or fridge. So let's see some custom stuff.

I have the same deal with my F350 manual trans 4x4. NO CUPHOLDERS! It makes enjoying a beverage while driving a risky proposition.

I just made a wooden box out of 12 inch planking. I didn't need to add cup holders, but it does give a handy mounting point for my light switch panel and CB as well as a good place to hide a fuse panel for the light switches.

I went with a Tuffy console from their law enforcement line [URL="/https://www.pro.tuffyproducts.com/c-4-consoles.aspx[/URL] for my 08 Ford Super duty. It houses my Icom and Motorola radios and the Sirius satellite radio. I used a code 3 switch panel for additional switches. It has four 12 volt outlets for charging phones, flashlights etc. I added the cup holders, locking console and document holder for maps and stuff. It replaces my center jump seat/console and is a bolt in item. They are not cheap but I highly recommend them. They have consoles for many different vehicles check them out.

Ive seen some nice ones which used really large ammo cans as a starting point. Large as in 20 or 30mm ammo.

Some great ideas here. Let's see some more custom stuff.

As for the ram and tuffy products. Any more pics of them from the side and how they fit the contours of the floor of your vehicles?
Any comments as to their quality? What is each one made of, and what was approximate cost if possible.

Thanks!

I'll get some pictures of my Ram tomorrow. There aren't any brackets for a Tundra, but luckily the holes in the top plate matched the original console holes so I was able to bolt it directly to the floor. Then a U shaped piece bolts to the top plate, and the console is bolted to the U piece.

Thanks much appreciated. What is it made of? Injection molded plastic is my guess. Do you recall the approximate cost?

I'm trying to decide between buying modular like this or having one built custom by a stereo shop. I kind of like the utilitarian aspect of these.

Thanks again!

No more pictures of the Tuffy console in my Ford but they do have a mounting kit for your Dodge. All the components are made of steel and are modular.. The mounting brackets bolt to existing jump seat holes. Once assembled the console sits 4"-5" up off the floor. The command console and mounting brackets are $231.00. The locking storage console is $218.00. The drink holders are $45.00. the document holders are $34.00 and the face plates for the command console would total around $100.00 depending on what you want/need. The face plates are available for many switch boxes and radios pre cut out or they come in blanks for surface mount stuff like gauges, switches etc. I have attached two Maglight flashlights to the bottom of both sides of the command console for easy reach for driver or passenger and the space underneath I stuff small soft bags with first aid stuff and other things on the floor.

They have mounting kits for many Chevy, Ford and Dodge trucks along with Jeep JK & TJ's. Toyota FJ's and even Suzuki Samurai's. They also have universal consoles but the mounting brackets would be up to you.

I've been a customer of Tuffy for years and I've always been impressed with the quality of their products. Check them out.

The base plate, U shaped piece, and console sides are metal. The console end caps are plastic. Some faceplates have been metal, some other plastic. I did make some extra brackets that you can see in the picture as the console wiggled around a little with mud terrains. I can't remember the cost, but figure somewhere near the Tuffy console.
